By booking a lesson with Positive Progressions Tutoring, you are confirming that you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions. Positive Progressions Tutoring reserve the right to make reasonable changes to the terms and conditions.
BOOKING POLICY (Effective as of 20.07.26)
Cancellations and Rescheduling - at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Less that 24 hours notice will NOT result in a refund or reschedule. If your lesson is cancelled due to illness on the day of the lesson then I will try my best to reschedule.
Missed Lessons - if no notice is given then the lesson will be treated as used and there will not be an opportunity to make-up this lesson, unless due to illness (as stated previously) and this has been communicated in a timely manner.
Tutor Cancellations - If Positive Progressions Tutoring need to cancel a lesson then it will be rescheduled to another time or refunded.

This Privacy Policy explains how Positive Progressions Tutoring (“we”, “us”, “our”) collect, use, and protect your personal information when we provide tutoring services (the “Services”) to children, and when parents'/guardians visit or use our website (www.positiveprogressionstutoring.com) to arrange those services. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Our services are designed for children. This policy is addressed primarily to parents and guardians, who must provide consent and manage their child’s account.

2: What Personal Data We Collect
We collect data about two groups: the parent/guardian who registers and manages the account, and the child (student) receiving tutoring.
Parent / Guardian contact information - name, email, phone number, billing address; relationship to the child; any information provided when contacting us or booking a lesson.
Child (student) information - name, age, DoB, year group, level of learning (WTS, EXS, GD); subjects being studied, learning goals, and progress info from school; any SEND or learning support requirements that the parent chooses to share with us, so we can tailor tutoring appropriately (this is “special category data” under UK GDPR and Positive Progressions Tutoring only collect it with the parent’s explicit consent, and only to the extent needed to support the child.)
Payment Information - billing name and address; payment card details - processed by our payment provider Square; we do not store full card numbers ourselves; transaction history.
Lesson materials - shared documents, worksheets, notes, and other materials exchanged during tutoring.
Analytics and Cookies - Positiveprogressionstutoring.com collects personal information to power our site analytics, including: information about your browser, network, and device; web pages you visited prior to coming to this website; your IP address; this information may also include details about your use of this website, including: clicks, internal links, pages visited, scrolling; searches; timestamps.
We provide this information to Squarespace, our website analytics provider, to learn about site traffic and activity.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings.
3: Parental Consent
Because our students are children, we require verifiable consent from a parent/legal guardian before:
creating a student account or booking any tutoring lesson
collecting any special category data
Parents/guardians can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, which may result in the account being suspended and associated data deleted or anonymised.
4: Safeguarding
The safety of the children we tutor is our priority.
All tutors undergo background checks (e.g. an enhanced DBS checks) before working with students, and we keep records of these checks
Any concerns about a child’s welfare raised during a lesson may be recorded and shared with the parent/guardian and, where legally required, with appropriate authorities, even without prior consent, in order to protect the child
5: Sharing Your Data with Third Parties
We share personal data with trusted third parties who help us operate our Services, including:
Payment processors (Square) to process payments securely
Video conferencing (Zoom) to host and record consultations
Cloud storage (Google Drive) to store data securely
Email/Communication tools (Gmail and acuity:scheduling) to send booking confirmations and updates
Safeguarding Authorities (Police, Social Services) so to protect a child’s welfare
We require all third parties to respect the security of data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not sell personal data to third parties, and we do not permit third parties to use children’s data for their own marketing purposes.
We will not otherwise share personal data with third parties without consent, except where require by law or safeguarding obligations.
6: Data Security
We implement appropriate measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. We operate a “high privacy by default” approach as we are working with children. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7: Communicating with Children
Where we communicate directly with a child (for example, during a tutoring lesson), we use clear, age-appropriate language. We do not encourage children to provide more personal data than is necessary for the lesson, and we do not use children’s data to profile them for commercial purposes.
8: Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised “last updated” date and, where changes are significant, notify parents/guardians directly. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
